Position
We’re looking for a Salon Management Intern to help manage the daily ins and outs of running the salon. As the first and last point of contact of Noël New York, it is extremely important that our Salon Intern is professional, client-oriented, and has a positive and gregarious countenance. Critical thinkers and self-motivated individuals will thrive in this position.
The ideal candidate will be considered for a full-time position at the end of the 8-week internship period.
Client management & scheduling
Use salon booking software (Booker) to effectively schedule new and existing clients with full comprehension of services, booking nuances, and prices
Coordinate client communication over phone and email
Host and perform concierge services for clientele. Prepare small bites and beverages.
Ensure smooth point of sale transactions
Inventory & ordering
Accurately record inventory levels, assist with ordering and receiving inventory
Learn about proactive inventory management, anticipating stylist and client product needs
Financial Management & Bookkeeping
Maintain register and petty cash. Provide daily reports and weekly petty cash reconciliation
Record and file receipts, both digital and physical
Salon Cleanliness & Upkeep
Light housekeeping
Required Skills
Google Suite
Ability to stand for moderate periods of time
Preferred Qualifications
Current enrollment in or completed business/hospitality degree and/or cosmetology license
Previous salon and/or customer service experience
Experience with business software such as Mailchimp, Quickbooks
Experience with Booker scheduling software
Previous social media experience
Compensation
$15/hour, estimated 20 hours per week
