Preschool Floater Teacher

· Duties and responsibilities
o Ensure for the care, health and safety of all children being supervised. Develop and maintain a constructive and ongoing rapport with children and parents. Create activities that are fun and educational for the children. Collaborate with other teachers to ensure that the school fosters an environment that is inviting and nurturing for every child and follows the school’s philosophy of education and child development. Deliver reports on potential concerns about students as to management as needed. Manage day-to-day classroom activities, including structured lessons, free play, bathroom breaks (including potty training), lunch time, snack times and rest time for students.
· Minimum Qualifications:
o must meet the qualifications for a fully qualified teacher (or be willing to take college courses) as stated in Title 22 including:
§ 12 semester units in child development or comparable courses, including 3 units in Infant and Toddler Care
§ Must be certified in pediatric CPR and First Aid
§ At least 6 months of experience in a childcare program serving children under 5 years old.
§ Bachelor’s degree in child development or equivalent preferred
§ must possess three units in Child or Human Development, three units in Child, Family, & Community; and six ECE Program and Curriculum courses.
· Special Skills
o Good organization and planning skills. Caring and nurturing attitude towards children. Communication skills to thoroughly communicate with co-teachers, enrolled families and their children, potential clients of the facility, and other members of the school’s community.
· Lines of Supervision
o Supervise all children in direct care of the teacher. Supervise teacher aides and assistants. Preschool teachers will be supervised by the Assistant Director, Director and President
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Salary: $16.00-$20.00 per hour depending on experience and education
