The Soulard School is seeking a part-time Paraprofessional to join our school community for the 2023-24 school year. Position will be approximately 25-30 hours per week during the school day, assisting one or more elementary students with special education needs in a mainstream classroom.

Major Responsibilities
Attend to the physical, personal, academic and emotional needs of elementary student(s) with special needs within a mainstream classroom setting.
Supervise student(s) in and out of the classroom setting.
Collaborate with Special Education Coordinator, Principal and classroom teachers to ensure that students make progress toward goals as established in their IEP.
Collect data and follow intervention protocols for students as directed by the Special Education Coordinator and Principal.
Contribute to creating a positive educational climate for students.
Build and maintain positive relationships with families, as well as strong communication between home and school.
Develop positive relationships with colleagues and peers.
Education & Experience
College degree and experience in elementary special education setting preferred.
Passing score on Paraprofessional Assessment test, or documentation of 60+ hours of college credit required.
Required Skills & Abilities
Warm and supportive attitude and disposition toward working with children and their families.
Reliable in attendance.
Willing to accept supervision in order to improve work performance.
Have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Physically able to perform the job of a teacher of young children.
General Pay & Contract Provisions
Part-time, hourly position for approximately 25-30 hours/week, school year schedule.
