Youth Yoga Instructor
Our Youth Yoga Learning Leaders are experienced with instructing young children and/or-teens and parents. They are passionate about being a part of and teaching with the Creative Nomads team. Youth Yoga teaches mindfulness, yoga, and various kinds of techniques for coping skills. Learning Leaders are responsible, skillful, and creative. Classes will incorporate age-appropriate poses, breathing, movement, games, and music.
Job Types: Contract, Temporary | Pay: $55.00 per session | Location: Virtual + In Person
Job Duties + Responsibilities:
Construct + implement weekly lesson plans focused on yoga + mindfulness activities + skills
Arrive to class 15 minutes prior to session start time
Create a fun + safe learning environment + maintains the health + safety of all youth
Prepare + sets up for sessions either in person, virtually, or both
Cleans up after each in person session
Establish + maintain positive relationships with youth + parents
Position Requirements:
6+ months of teaching children ages 3 – 16 in similar programs or activities
Ability to demonstrate + participate in the activity or skills that is being taught
Ability to routinely + repetitively bend to lift more than 30 lbs.
Enthusiastic about working with youth + has the ability to build rapport with youth
Positive + patient personality
Excellent written + verbal communication skills
Participates in a regular yoga practice (preferred)
Certification preferred but not required
Education, Experience, and Skills
A minimum of 6+ months of teaching children and adults in similar programs or activities
Excellent written + verbal communication skills
Selected candidates will undergo a background check
Professional certification preferred but not required
