Waterloo Outdoor Design Build is seeking a talented and motivated professional to join our design team.

The ideal candidate has 1-3 years of professional experience in the design industry or equivalent experience in a university setting; outstanding verbal, written, and graphic communication skills; a positive attitude; and a passion for landscape and design.

The designer will be responsible for preparation, site analysis, design revisions, illustrative graphics/renderings, conceptual plans, and final design creation, seeing each full project through to completion.

Responsibilities include:

Create/revise residential and commercial landscape designs using a variety of construction materials and native plants.
Analyze natural and manmade elements of the area, including soil, slope, drainage, natural vegetation, and lighting.
Meet (in person and/or virtually) with clients and manage client accounts and projects.
Work in an 90% virtual environment and be accountable for efficient time management, deliverables and personal performance.
Minimum Skills/Qualifications:

1-3 years professional experience in design industry or equivalent experience in university setting
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and projects simultaneously
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent written and verbal skills for in-person and virtual communication
Sketchup and Layout knowledge is a plus, or be quick to learn new software
