We are an optometry clinic in Bellingham that is looking for someone to become a vision therapist for 2 days a week (our current need is Tuesday and Friday) and possibly more in the future. Our clinic has a great reputation in our city and you will have patients who respect what you do and are compliant with the treatments that you provide for them. It is a generally a cash paying service, and so the people who come in for our treatments are serious about following your guidance.
We believe in education and provide an immense amount of training, teaching and coaching. Travel around the country for seminars/conferences is available for any vision therapist who is committed.
You will be part of a small office people who help each other out treat each other with the utmost respect.

TASKS:
Communicate with patients in a way that allows them to confidently make the right decision the treatment you provide each week.
Ensure patients achieve their clinical, educational and lifestyle outcomes/goals in the time frame that the doctor sets.
Communicate the value of our service with the fee/price that the patient will need to pay to access it.
Ensure that the patients remain excited about the prospect of coming in for vision therapy each week
Provide a high level of customer service that will cause patients to want to come back frequently (and tell their friends and family about us as well).
Ensure that patients complete their initial agreed upon plan of treatment (usually lasting between 4 and 12 months)
Ensure that the clinical notes are kept up to date and accurate on our patient software and completed by the end of each work day.
Participate in, and contribute to, and help develop in house educational training program which are provided to any vision therapist.
Outcomes:
The goal is for 90% of your patients to successfully complete their therapy on time (if they agreed to 6 months, we want them to be finished by 6 months - not 8 months etc.)
EXPERIENCE:
Experience for this exact role is NOT required.
University degrees are NOT required.
About half your patients will be children ranging from about 4-18 so you have to be comfortable with kids and their parents too.
