The AmeriCorps VISTA member will support the Increasing H.O.P.E Financial Training Center’s mission to create financial freedom and stability for families in South Carolina by building assets through financial education and training.

The VISTA member will play a crucial role in expanding the organization’s volunteer base, enhancing community outreach, and strengthening partnerships to better serve our constituents.

Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recruitment strategy to attract a diverse pool of skilled volunteers.

· Create engaging training materials and facilitate onboarding sessions for new volunteers.

· Develop and maintain a tracking program to manage community outreach efforts and partnership relationships.

· Assist in the planning and execution of community events and workshops to raise awareness about the organization’s services.

· Collaborate with staff and volunteers to identify new opportunities and events through various work channels, including social media, newsletters, and local publications.

· Develop and maintain a volunteer recognition program to ensure long-term commitment and satisfaction.

· Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor, in support of the organization’s mission.

Requirements:

· U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident, at least 18 years of age, with no upper age limit.

· Strong desire and passion to serve low to moderate-income families and individuals.

· Experience in public relations, marketing, social media, volunteer program development, and human resources preferred.

· Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

· Ability to pass background checks, including a sex offender search, state/federal background checks, and potentially an FBI fingerprint background check.

Commitment Expected:

Start Date for VISTA Intern is 7/17/2023.

· VISTA Intern work hours are Monday -Thursday, 8am to 5pm, and Friday 8am to 12pm.

· One year commitment.
