Compass Rose Brewery is a small business that opened its doors as Northeast Raleigh's first craft brewery in 2015. We are an independantly owned brewery founded by two businessmen with a passion for exploration and a love of fresh craft beer.
Our primary goal is to provide an extensive variety of exceptionally hand-crafted beers to our customers at the taproom and around the Triangle area. With a taproom that offers over 5,500 sq ft of space, we hope to provide an inviting setting where family, friends, neighbors, and travelers can experience consistent quality while engaging in conversations, renewing old friendships, and forming new ones.
Job Description:
Compass Rose Brewery is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic bartender to provide an excellent guest drinking experience. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, independent, and able to handle a high volume and fast paced work environment. They must have great social skills and the ability to multi-task. Other qualifications include politeness, strong work ethic, punctuality, attentivness, and desire to work as a team player. Compensation includes salary and tips.
Responsibilities:
- Serve alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant patrons
- Interact with customer's and check identification to confirm it meets legal drinking age
- Take orders and accurately input drinks or "mispours" into the POS.
- Inspect glassware, rinse approprately and pour appropriately
- Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
- Follow open/closing responsibilities and checklist
- Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
- Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
- Comply with all food and beverage regulations
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age and have the ability to work around alcohol without abusing it.
- Must be able to work long shifts and stand for long periods of time and must be able to lift and carry 45 lbs and move 160 lbs.
- Good math skills are required for the safe and honest handling of money and keeping accruate tabs.
- Experience with draft systems and tap line maintance are preferred but not required
- Must complete North Carolina's ABC online training Server course (required to serve beer)
