Frontier Health Services (FHS) is a leading mental health clinic located in Anchorage, Alaska. As a member of the collaborative group, Frontier Health and Wellness, we are a rapidly growing mental health care group that includes psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, therapists, and neuropsychological testers. We are dedicated to providing exceptional care to our patients and currently have an opportunity for a highly skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant to join our team. This is a newly created position that offers professional growth and development, along with additional training. Position: Physician Assistant
Location: Frontier Health Services, Anchorage, Alaska
Office Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am-6:00pm (Excluding Holidays)

Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with our team of physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, neuropsychological testers and administrative staff to provide comprehensive mental health care services to patients within the larger Anchorage area.
• Perform patient assessments, diagnose illnesses, and develop appropriate treatment plans under the supervision of a physician.
• Conduct examinations, review records, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and prescribe medications.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families, promoting overall well-being and recovery.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations.
• Additional Training: As part of this position, the selected candidate will be expected to receive additional training under the supervision of Dr. Hjellen, our experienced psychiatrist. This training will span a period of 6-12 months and will involve a combination of lectures, didactics, clinical observation, and readings. This invaluable training will further enhance your knowledge and skills in the field of mental health, enhance your ability to provide effective patient care and improve treatment outcomes.

Qualifications:
• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current Alaska State licensure as a Physician Assistant.
• Experience or interest in mental health and psychiatry is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrates a willingness and eagerness to receive training and supervision to further develop skills and enhance patient care.
• Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.

Compensation Package:
Employment Type: We offer flexibility in the employment type, allowing you to choose the option that aligns with your personal and professional goals. You can be hired as a W2 employee, enjoying the benefits and protections that come with employee status, or as an independent contractor, granting you greater autonomy and flexibility. For candidates who prefer to work as an independent contractor, they can expect a higher base salary. This increase allows for the capacity to self-manage 100% of their benefits.

Option 1: Comprehensive Benefits Package. This option includes the following comprehensive benefits:
• Competitive Salary: Your annual salary will be based on your qualifications and experience, ranging from $110,000 to $165,000. We understand that each candidate brings unique expertise, and we aim to compensate accordingly.
• Significant Salary Increases: We value continuous growth and achievement. As you progress in your educational pursuits, demonstrate exceptional productivity, and consistently deliver high-quality patient care outcomes, you can expect salary increases of up to 33% during year two of employment. Your dedication and success will be recognized and rewarded.
• Health Insurance: Comprehensive health insurance coverage will be provided to ensure you and your dependents have access to quality healthcare.
• Retirement Savings: We understand the importance of planning for the future. Therefore, we offer a 401K plan to help you save for retirement and achieve long-term financial security.

Option 2: Higher Base Income. This option provides a higher base salary to allow you the autonomy to purchase your own insurance, establish your preferred retirement savings plan, and customize your benefits according to your individual needs and priorities.
• Higher Base Salary: Your annual salary will be adjusted upwards to account for the absence of employer-provided health insurance and retirement benefits. This higher base income will provide you with the flexibility to independently secure these benefits based on your personal preferences and priorities.
