Field Surveyor
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Field Surveyor uses global positioning systems (GPS) to layout road construction projects and verifies the accuracy of survey data. Using Machine Control 3D systems.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The Field Surveyor directly reports to the Survey/GPS Manager.
REQUIREMENTS:
A. EDUCATION
Minimum of a high school diploma
B. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
1. To have the ability to use global positioning systems (GPS) to lay out road construction projects. Knowledge of field laser levels and field conventional levels. Some experience with survey theodolites.
C. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Layout road construction projects with GPS equipment.
2. Assist field supervisor in day-to-day field construction layout.
D. SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL
1. Understand all rules listed in the Ajax Employee Safe Practices Handbook.
2. Insure all Ajax quality standards are met.
E. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Field environment.
Ability to work days, nights, and weekends as required.
F. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The essential functions of this position include sitting, standing, walking, climbing, reaching, bending, trunk movements, lifting a minimum of 45 lbs., carrying, pushing/pulling, low-level work, dexterity of hands and fingers, seeing, hearing, and talking.

5. Performing such other duties as may be required.
