Early Childhood Educator
Edgewood House Preschool, located in Palo Alto, is looking for a teacher to join our close knit teaching team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about the education, growth, development, and moments of exploration and joy of young children (ages 2-6).
About Edgewood House Preschool
We founded our school 15 years ago in order to provide children, teachers, and families a child-centered, relationship based, full day preschool program in an intimate small group environment (teacher to child ratio 1:4-1:6). Our indoor and outdoor environments are equally accessible throughout our program day and our programs present learning concepts through hands-on exploration of the world around us; introducing academic and social concepts within a non-competitive environment. Our primary goal is to provide a philosophically balanced approach to early childhood education, caregiving, and teaching; readying children for the adventures beyond our doors.
As a teaching team, we are incredibly respectful, supportive, and inspired by one another and we work together daily to best partner with our families providing them a nurturing, rich, hands-on, enthusiastic, and fulfilling preschool experience!
Position Requirements/Benefits: This is a full time position, tentatively scheduled for 8:00am-5:00pm, 5 days per week (M-F, including daily 1 hour breaks)..
Preferred Credentials:
A minimum of 12 units ECE/CD including core courses, as required by California state law
Or currently enrolled completing the courses
50 days of 3+ hours per day of on floor childcare experience
CPR and First Aid Certification
Proof of Physical Exam, Negative TB test, up-to-date Covid-19 vaccination
Live Scan Fingerprint Clearance
Positive, warm, welcoming disposition, and a love of working with young children and families
Ability to interact with and partner with parents and co-teachers in a warm, empathetic, confident manner
Benefits:
Compensation is very competitive and depends on experience, certifications, enthusiasm, and flexibility. . . (starting $45K-$60K)
6 weeks paid time off/year…paid in full during all school closures

The opportunity to enroll in our sponsored 401K retirement plan through ADP payroll services. Edgewood House Preschool LLC pays for the service of the 401K, and matches up to 4%. Your payroll benefits include State Disability Insurance.
