Camp Krem Yosemite is a 501(c)3 non-profit summer sleep-away camp in Ahwahnee, CA. We serve children, teens, and adults with a wide range of developmental disabilities.

We are looking to fill seasonal (summer, temporary), live-in Music Specialist for our camp which runs May 21 - August 14. Room & board provided!

The Music Specialist is responsible for the development and delivery of an engaging daily
music program that is appropriate to campers’ age and abilities and compliments Camp Krem’s
philosophies, goals and programs. Assist in the management of the music area and related equipment and
supplies.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Develop and deliver a music program appropriate for our campers, considering their age, abilities and
Camp themes.
• Design daily music lesson plans that meet the needs of the campers.
• Evaluate abilities of campers and adapt lessons accordingly.
• Implement varied and interactive daily music sessions.
• Encourage campers’ self-expression and self-confidence through music.
2. Work with campers throughout the session to prepare for musical performances at end of each session,
highlighting what they have learned.
3. Work with interested campers one on one to prepare individual musical performances for Talent Show, etc.
4. Assist in the planning of any special events especially in the area of music

Other Job Duties:
• Participate enthusiastically in all camp activities, planning and leading those as assigned
• Participate as a member of the programming team to deliver and supervise daily activities, evening
programs, special events, and other all-camp activities and camp functions.
• Assist counselors with camper behavior management, using music as a medium.
• Reach out to local bands/artists and organize concerts for our campers and staff during the sessions.
• Assist with various other camp duties as assigned by Directors.
• Ensure the safe storage of supplies and equipment throughout and at the end of the season.
• Abide by all camp policies and procedures.
• Communicate and interact effectively with fellow staff members, administrative staff and campers,
regardless of ability, race, creed, national origin, sexual identification or gender.
