Job description
Mary Poppins Daycare Nanny Services, is now hiring an Early Learning Teacher.

Under the direction of center administration, the childcare teacher will execute classroom activities and help maintain a classroom environment that is developmentally appropriate and meets the individual needs of children. The childcare teacher position will move into different classrooms to help maintain the standards of the center. Classrooms may include toddlers and preschool-age children. The Early Learning Teacher will help support the lead teacher, Assistant Teacher, and Teacher’s Aide in providing a safe and educational learning environment for the children.

Major Responsibilities and Tasks

Program Core Features
Provide a high-quality learning environment that incorporates evidence curriculum and instructional activities
Support the teachers in order to provide the highest quality of care to the children
Attend and participate in all scheduled training in support of ongoing professional development
Be familiar with different Curricula
Positively engage with children and use appropriate Conscious Discipline methods, as outlined in ODJFS policy
Perform the functions of this position with a strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practices
Assist the teachers in implementing lesson plans
Identify concerns or developmental milestones of primary care children to the lead teacher
Develop relationships with families by providing open communication and encouraging parental input
Interpret school programs for parents to strengthen the understanding of the child’s needs and the importance of an early learning environment for the continued development of the child
Attend staff meetings, as requested
In cooperation with other staff, complete daily cleaning duties
Clean the classroom before leaving
Carry out routine duties such as meal preparations, diapering, toileting, hand washing, and supervision of children at all times
Ensure classroom materials, furniture, and supplies are properly maintained
Demonstrate the ability to interact with parents and co-workers to obtain and give necessary information.
Demonstrate the ability to cope with stressful situations firmly, courteously, tactfully, and with respect for the rights of co-workers, parents, and children.
Display good general intelligence and emotional stability.
Assist and supervise children, providing consistent care and meeting the needs of toddlers and preschool children.
Sit on the floor with children; sit in a child-size chair and at the child-size tables.
Bend from knee and waist to talk to the children at their eye level (bend, stoop, and squat).
Participate in local walks; participate in physical outdoor play, if applicable.
Participate with children in movement activities such as running, climbing, exercises, etc.
Lift a child weighing up to 40 pounds in a safe and appropriate manner.
Model standard languages to enhance children’s understanding of words and increase their vocabulary.
Any other duties assigned by center administration and lead teacher
Follow a full schedule of activities
Provide quality and attentive care in an educational environment
Adhere to standards and safety regulations as established by ODJFS SUTQ
