La Roma Pastry Shop, a renowned Italian bakery in the heart of Long Island, is currently seeking a skilled and customer-oriented Counter Worker to join our team. As a Counter Worker, you will be responsible for providing outstanding service to our customers by assisting them in selecting and purchasing a variety of baked goods, pastries, and coffee.

Responsibilities:

Greet customers as they enter the bakery, and assist them in selecting and purchasing baked goods and other items.

Provide knowledgeable recommendations to customers about our products and ingredients.

Handle cash and card transactions accurately and efficiently.

Maintain a clean and organized sales area, including the display of baked goods, and restocking as needed.

Handle customer complaints in a professional and courteous manner.

Follow food safety and health guidelines.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Prior experience in customer service or retail preferred.

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.

Knowledge of Italian baked goods and pastries a plus.
