Substitute Teacher
Substitutes needed immediately for local Montessori school and for the 2023-2024 school year. Candidates for this position must be RESPONSIBLE, PROFESSIONAL, POSITIVE CHEERFUL, FLEXIBLE, PATIENT, EMPATHETIC, HARDWORKING, and TEAM-ORIENTED, and first and foremost, MUST ENJOY WORKING WITH CHILDREN from 2 - 6 years. Qualified applicants will have a minimum of 1 year experience working with children in early childhood or elementary education, special education, or child development.
A substitute's day is never the same, as s/he must be able to step into every staff member's shoes at any time, DOING IT ALL from classroom assisting to recess nap room duty to cleaning duties, dishes, and laundry, to giving hugs reading and MORE! Additionally, this position requires the ability to bend kneel crouch, walk stand for long periods of time, sit on the floor, and perform light cleaning duties including sanitizing with bleach. This is a great part time opportunity for enthusiastic, flexible, and creative individuals who want occasional work based upon their own availability. Registration on the Oregon Central Background Registry is required as is completing a short series of required professional trainings.
