San Lorenzo Montessori is looking for a substitute and afternoon assistant.
Hours: Monday to Friday from 12:15 pm to 5:30 pm.
The assistant will work closely with the director and staff to create a positive and
supportive environment for children to develop and learn, guided by the Montessori
Philosophy.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, positive, patient
and open to working in an alternative educational setting. Candidate should desire
to work with children ages 2.5 to 6 years old, and be willing to learn about
Montessori.
Candidates need to be comfortable with structure and routine, but flexible to meet
the needs of the individual child, and accept direction from the lead teacher, to
maintain the Montessori Environment.
Assistants supervise the children in the classroom, bathroom and outside. They
must be able to lift a minimum of 40lbs., bend down to child's eye level, and work
with children while seated on the floor.
Responsibilities include: maintaining the classroom, toileting, assisting with dressing
and undressing, food preparation, cleaning and sanitizing.
Candidates must meet NY State requirements including, CPR and first aid, finger
printing, background check, and OCFS training. Paid training hours.
Pay range: $16-20/hour, dependent on childcare experience
