The Position
As the Head Bartender, you are the welcoming face after a long day of work or working out for a member. They come to the bar so that they can unwind, relax, and have a great drink. As such, you are expected to be prepared for service wherever needed, and be able to provide whichever beverage a member may desire.
Two years of comparable bartending experience preferred but not required. Full-time and part-time positions are available.
Job Knowledge and Expectations
• Greet and acknowledge members and guests.
• Knowledgeable about food and wines and spirits.
• Ability to take orders accurately and time the service of each course.
• Learns members’ names and their special preferences.
• Able to assist setting up table and moving light furniture
• Informing Club House Manager of weekly Beverage needs
• Ensuring deliveries are properly stored the day they are delivered in order to avoid fire hazards
• Creating new exciting cocktails and mocktails for members
• Completing monthly inventory on time
• Updating Jonas pricing and new items
• Informing Club House Manager of any bar necessities. ex. Glassware, shakers, stirrers, strainers, etc.
• Keeping the back bar clean and clear from paperwork, pens, chits, etc.
• Ensuring bar top and stools are clean and presentable
• Ensuring Paddle house, Squash House, and Snack Bar are fully stocked
• Responsible for educating staff on cocktails, wine, and beer available daily
• Training new bartenders
• Ensuring Bartenders are properly dressed and prepared for work. Name tag, tie, wine key, captains’ pads, if staff has beard, it must be presentable. As per Employee Manual
• Responsible for locking up all beverages at the end of the night, and opening in the morning
• Responsible for having all Glassware polished after washed.
• Responsible for bartenders to be knowledgeable in terms of menu items and new Cocktails
• Attends pre-meal meetings as requested by the Dining Room Manager or Clubhouse Manager.
• Follows local and state laws and the club’s policies for the service of alcoholic beverages.
• Performs other appropriate duties assigned by Dining Room Manager or Clubhouse Manager
