Job Description:
• Provide a nurturing, safe, and educational environment for children to grow and develop.
• Develop a weekly lesson plan for the following week and submit to center Director/Trainer when required.
• Plan a balance of activities that supports the healthy development of the whole child including the areas of:
• Health and Physical Development
o Social and Emotional Development
o Language Development and Communication Spiritually
o Approaches of Learning
o Cognition and General Knowledge
• Implement and supervise all indoor and outdoor classroom activities.
• Communicate daily with each family regarding their child’s day and needs.
• Attend and participate in monthly staff meetings, training sessions, and center events such as open house, etc.
• Participate actively with teaching team through communication, collaboration, and planning.
• Communicate directly, work to resolve conflicts quickly, and avoid gossip.
• Establish and maintain a relationship of cooperation and respect with co-workers.
• Use assessments, plan goals and environment, and implement activities in a cycle of developmental growth.
• Complete an individual Portfolio on each child in classroom.
• Maintain a clean and safe center by cleaning floors, tables, chair, and sink after meals, when spills occur, or after messy activities, send home old artwork, clean cubbies periodically. Clean and sanitize equipment and toys.
• Support the beliefs, ideas, and goals of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
• Keep daily records on individual children, including daily observations and information about activities, meals served, and medication administered.
• Stay compliant with standards, laws, and regulations.
• Be on time for work when scheduled and be work ready. Responsible to contact the Director if you are unable to come to work on time.
• All other center needs assigned by Director or Assistant Director.

Requirements:
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a minimum of a High School Diploma
• Have completed the childcare teacher courses and training as required by the Wisconsin State Department of Children and Family Services and the State Licensing Child Care Regulations.
• Be able to lift 40 pounds and meet physical requirements of job.
• Acquire and maintain a current Registry Certificate with 15 hours of Continuing Education Units annually.
• Meet State and Federal health guidelines including immunizations, employment physical and required health and safety training.
• Have a reliable form of transportation.
• Pass a background check
