ABA Classroom delivers ABA medical treatment service to children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorders. We use precision teaching, focussing on increasing verbal behavior and social skills and decreasing challenging behaviours that can be symptomatic with a diagnosis of ASD. The ABA Classroom is a resource for families on Maui's west side, providing a versatile learning environment within walking distance to fun community locations. Supervision is provided by BCBA's with over 50 years of combined experience in ABA.

ABA Classroom is a locally run ABA clinic in Lahaina Hawaii, that delivers medical treatment service to children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorders, we also deliver in-home and community ABA services according to the needs of the child and family. We use precision teaching, focussing on increasing verbal behavior and social skills and decreasing challenging behaviours that can be symptomatic with a diagnosis of ASD. Our aim is for the clients full recovery of communication and social skills so that they may be indistinguishable from their peers. The ABA Classroom is a resource for families on Maui's west side, providing a fun learning environment within walking distance to other community locations, including the Lahaina pool, playgrounds, and the beach! We actively teach the kids swimming, volleyball, basketball, soccer, and surfing as part of their leisure and recreation skills! ABA Classroom has a working partnership with the Maui Animal Farm where our learners have the opportunity to practice generalizing their verbal behavior skills and can learn prevocational skills with feeding and caring for the animals and plants.

At ABA Classroom the focus is on providing highly effective comprehensive ABA treatment in a fun and supportive learning environment. Whether at home or in the ABA classroom setting, the programs are family centered and respectful of culture and family goals. We are looking for dedicated employees who have their Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential. The RBT credential is a professional credential offered through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). The RBT credential is required for individuals providing services on any Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) or insurance-based contracts in Hawaii.

Flexible Scheduling:

Part time and full time positions available in Lahaina and Napili: in-home, community or in the ABA Classroom
Shifts available Monday through Saturday, Sundays available upon request and family availability
Shifts begin as early as 8:30 a.m. Sessions in the ABA Classroom end by 6:30 p.m.
Responsibilities for Registered Behavior Technician (RBT):

Our priority goal at the ABA Classroom is to empower families and clients to lead their best life according to the individual and family driven vision. Each ABA Classroom client has a behavior support plan and it is the responsibility of the behavior technician to work with caregivers, and/or staff, to put in place strategies within this plan and achieve the desired outcomes.

Follow ABA treatment plans (written and verbal directions) outlined by the Supervising Behavior Analyst
Work 1:1 in the home, community or ABA Classroom with children and young adults diagnosed with autism.
Work directly with clients and follow the established treatment plan/behavior support plan for implementing skill acquisition and behavior reduction procedures.
Establish and maintain effective, supportive, and therapeutic relationships with clients families. Respect the values, thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes of clients and families.
Document interventions and progress towards goals accurately and in a timely manner.
Collect behavior data as specified in client behavior support plan.
Discuss data and progress reports with in order to strategize program improvements.
As applicable to the treatment plan, provide training, instruction, and assistance to help the client acquire and maintain skills and to help meet treatment goals.
As applicable, provide transportation related to the implementation of activities as directed by the treatment plan.
Provide training and/or support to the client in interpersonal skills, the development and maintenance of personal relationships, and in living in his/her community.
Monitor health status and physical condition and reports any changes in the client's condition or other incidents to the supervisor.

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Qualifications:

A high school diploma and be at least 18 years of age
Completion of Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certificate, or willingness to enroll and complete RBT coursework within the first 30 days of job offer
Bachelor’s Degree, or near completion of a bachelor’s degree is preferred
Strong verbal and written communication, time management and organizational skills, problem-solving
Completion of all training requirements regulated by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board)
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Requirements:

Ability to be impeccable with your word (integrity and reliability)
Respectful, timely and mature communication skills
Proven ability to work effectively with people from a variety of cultural backgrounds
Experience in working with individuals on the autism spectrum, or other developmental disabilities preferred
Clear level-two background check
Verifiable work references
Active National Provider Identifier (NPI) number (medical service provider number)

Salary: $27.00 - $30.00 per hour
