Apparel Sales Associate
We are looking to fill a rarely available position as Apparel Retail Sales Representative at the Santa Fe Weaving Gallery. This position requires a friendly, outgoing, energetic and experienced retail sales individual with a positive attitude who appreciates artistic women’s fashion and has a demonstrated knack for creating customized combinations of apparel and accessories to meet our Gallery customers’ needs. We offer an above average hourly wage, discount for store merchandise and pay for parking, when working.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position reports directly to the Owner of the Gallery, but works closely with the Gallery Sales Manager and responsibilities are not limited to:
• Greeting customers warmly and immediately as they enter the Gallery, determining how best to assist them. Handle all transactions in a professional and enthusiastic manner.
• Creating new and maintaining existing customer relationships
• Becoming familiar with the Gallery’s’ artists designs and techniques. Be able to communicate the features and benefits of the artists’ creations to inform and influence customer purchases.
• Support website sales with accuracy in packaging and shipping.
• Assist in executing trunk shows and other invitational events in, with co-workers and Owner, as needed.
• Assist in creating merchandise hangtags including product descriptions, measurements, accurate SKU numbers and prices.
• Familiarity with using an Apple IOS system and ability to accurately use the Shopify POS system to enter customer information and execute sales transactions. Ability to use Gmail.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness, organization and appearance of the Gallery including creating new in store displays.
REQUIREMENTS
● 2+ years of retail sales experience, preferably in women’s apparel or other high end retail categories
● Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
● Creative merchandising skills
● Enthusiasm and appreciation for textile arts
● Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and to foster a positive work environment as a team player
● Knowledge of Mac Operating Systems and Google email.
● Exposure to or experience with Shopify or comfort with using/learning online POS systems
● Exposure to or experience with e-commerce.
● Ability to stand for 8 hours and to lift up to 30 lbs. without assistance
● Prior, verified and confirmed recommendations, by a previous supervisor, that applicant can work as a trusted team members and can take and follow directions easily
Knowledge of posting on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest for a business is not a requirement but a benefit in this hiring process.
SALARY BENEFITS
