Seeking a Full-time Meeting & Events Coordinator
(40 hours per week; 8 hours per day)

The American Fire Sprinkler Association, (AFSA) is a non-profit, international association representing open shop fire sprinkler contractors, dedicated to the educational advancement of its members and promotion of the use of automatic fire sprinkler systems. AFSA was organized in 1981 to provide the open shop fire sprinkler contractor with training, consulting, communication, representation and many more services, all of which have expanded over its existence.

Job Description:
The American Fire Sprinkler Association is a trade association whose members consist of fire sprinkler contractors, designers and manufacturers & suppliers. Our association offers training to our members involved in installing fire sprinkler systems. The Meetings and Events Coordinator would be involved in coordinating training in a variety of platforms such as in-person & webinar based training. The job requires this person to coordinate events beginning with marketing efforts to registration to meeting set-ups through final reporting.

Responsibilities:
• Coordinate in-person training details with speakers, chapters, companies & organizations.
• Prepare & communicate in-person training marketing
• Coordinate in-person training registrations & confirmation communication
• Prepare materials & supplies for in-person training
• Set up training room for in-person training
• Coordinate in-person field trip – arrange transportation, lunch, & tour
• Calculate & communicate in-person training report card and certification access post event
• Prepare monthly in-person training deferred revenue report
• Calculate and report hours earned for live seminars, webinars, & in-person training
• Coordinate live webinars – coordinate details with speakers & staff
• Prepare & communicate webinar marketing
• Prepare & communicate competition event marketing
• Coordinate competition event testing
• Coordinate competitor travel
• Coordinate competition post event details
• Assist preparation of annual convention (varies)

Requirements:
• 2 years of meeting planning experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong skill with attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Proficient in working with Microsoft Office
• Proficient in working with AdobeConnect
• Proficient in working with iMIS (preferred)
