The Special Education Tech gives one-to-one support and focus to children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder. The main goals of the Special Education Tech are to follow the treatment plan, help the participant reduce and/or eliminate inappropriate behavior, help/teach the participant to communicate in an appropriate manner, assist the participant in learning self-care skills, increase daily living skills and assist the participant in fostering greater independence and socially responsible behavior. The Special Education Tech will encourage social integration and participation in group activities. The Special Education Tech adheres to teaching procedures and positive behavior reinforcement to achieve goals. The Special Education Tech must maintain confidentiality of client information. The Paraprofessional will collect data and record activities and progress in daily progress notes in accordance with Autism Connection policies and Autism Waiver regulations. .
