Spanish Teacher Assistant
This is a great opportunity to become part of a growing Spanish immersion family and advance your career. We are looking for a Spanish Assistant teacher for our 2 year old classroom. Our philosophy is play based with an emergent curriculum that is developed based on the questions and interests of the children with a Reggio Emilia approach. We are a process based art and science school and spend most days outdoors, you must love nature and being outdoors! This position is lead our Two's program, create a warm and inspiring environment, to give children an incredible first experience of our Spanish immersion program, to provide process based art & science activities and create community amongst the families. Positive mindset and love of music a must! We work hard and have fun and are looking for a teacher with a positive mindset, lots of energy and a strong desire to be a better teacher and human! Must have a US work permit. This position is full-time 8:10am-4:40pm.
Job Description:
All instruction is in Spanish
Maintain a positive mindset, positive language and positive culture for the children.
Help children towards independence in self-care, eating, dressing and using the toilet.
Sing songs a must and play games.
Create an environment of kindness and inclusion to build social connection within the classroom.
Utilize (truly enjoy) the outdoor classrooms and garden for discovery and learning.
Develop curriculum and activities that are sensory and play based. Emphasis is on science, math and art.
Create and maintain a safe and caring learning environment implementing positive mindset practices.
Communicate with parents on a daily basis.
Diapering and napping of children.
Cleaning duties.
Desired Qualifications:
2+ years of experience
Age Groups: Toddlers, Preschool
First Aid Training, CPR Training, Early Childhood Education (ECE), Early Child Development Coursework minimum 6 ECE units
First Aid & CPR
Google doc experience
Knowledge of DRDP assessment
Live Scan fingerprint and criminal background clearance
Must be able to use a computer with basic proficiency.
Ability to speak, read and write Spanish and English.
Will be responsible for daily planning, managing and supervising the classroom and children.
