Academic Coaches are ACES’s most powerful agents of change, engaging directly with students to advance education equity and prepare young learners for success in school, career, and community. Academic Coaches use ACES’s unique, hands-on curriculum to cultivate math skill and social-emotional development for a classroom of 10-15 middle school age students. Academic Coaches also provide one-on-one mentorship and academic support, building strong relationships with students and their families. Academic Coaches are supported by and meet daily with a Site Coordinator, and work together to plan lessons, develop teaching strategies and curriculum adaptations, and support students. Academic Coaches receive consistent coaching and mentorship from experienced educators, tap into a wealth of knowledge from the ACES team, participate in regular trainings and workshops, and receive structured feedback on a quarterly basis.
