Essential Job Functions
• Perform all aspects of Electrical Engineering as it relates individually assigned projects.
• Requires limited mentoring on complex system designs.
• Works independently in a team environment to complete project from start to finish with little to no input from Supervisor.
• Capable of working independently on highly complex projects to design multiple systems (A/V, IT, Lighting, Power, etc.).
• Understands and implements cross-discipline coordination.
• Plan & design electrical systems for complex projects of various types including; institutional facilities, commercial buildings, medical complexes, educational facilities, laboratories, and government facilities including Construction Administration.
• Performs self QC on work and plans for/seeks appropriate peer review of work.

• Meets with Clients and other engineers to review and coordinate disciplines.
• Provides bidding phase services (attending and directing pre-bid and pre-construction meetings).
• Seeing the Electrical construction of the project through completion and evaluating conformance with project construction documents.
• Consult with clients to determine the scope of services required for a project which may include; conducting field surveys and meeting with clients, analysis and selection of systems, evaluating project budgets, completing design documents and technical specifications.
• Capable of conducting client meetings without Supervisor.
• Responsible for understanding and embodying DWG’s Culture Statement.
• Perform individual aspects of electrical engineering as it relates to individually assigned projects. This is inclusive of, but not limited to the following:
 Power distribution both primary distribution and secondary distribution
 Power generation including cogeneration and standby systems
 Lighting design and control, including both interior and exterior lighting
 Power conditioning and uninterruptible power supplies
 Telecommunications
 Security and surveillance
 Fire alarm
 Programmable controllers
 Nurse call
 Lightning protection
• Performing appropriate field work to determine a design direction, including making educated decisions on system upgrades.
• Prepare bid plans using AutoCAD and/or Revit and specifications using Word.
• Process correspondence efficiently, accurately and confidentially.
• Establish good rapport and build relationships with peers and clients by responding to requests and communicating information in a timely manner.
• Remain updated on current professional practices and maintain a high awareness of new products and procedures in industry by monitoring trade publications and actively participating in professional associations.
• Actively attends in-house training sessions to enhance knowledge in necessary technical areas.
• Must travel at times to meet with clients or visit project sites.

Supervisory Responsibilities
• Assists in coaching/mentoring Junior Engineers and Electrical Consultants as needed.

Education/Experience
• BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering or an Architectural Engineering Degree with an emphasis in Electrical Engineering
• 5+ years related experience in Consulting Engineering

Certifications/Registrations
• Registered PE

• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Excellent Customer service capabilities
• Ability to work more than 40 hours per week in order to meet project deadlines
• Ability to drive to project sites and perform customary field work.
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Able to work in the United States
