The job involves primarily hospital cleaning and some moving around, care of and cleaning up after animals. Usually the job is 1-3 weekdays days per week from 4:30-6:30, and on most Sundays. Also it does include working on holidays (New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day,) since we occasionally board cats. We depend on responsible, dedicated, people to help us in this important aspect of running an excellent veterinary facility. As a kennel assistant here, you will realize that this a vital part of the overall care of the animals for the people that own them.
We ask for a minimum six-month commitment.


Following is a general list of some of the cleaning duties. The list changes sometimes.


DAILY DUTIES:
-Laundry-
-Clean cages of all animals in hospital, feed and water as directed, according to pet's record instructions
-Clean dog runs and cages that were used.
-Clean/wipe down countertops, FAX machine
-Vacuum entire hospital
-Mop entire hospital, using the appropriate product for each area
-Clean bathroom, toilet, sink, clean with Clorox Bleach (and mirror as needed) Spray counters and walls with Simple Green
-Sweep around entry ways, building, sidewalks and pick up any litter / leaves on property every day
-Water outdoor plants, (a lot in warm weather)
-Refill soaps, sprays, paper towels, etc
-Clean mat on dog scale
-Clean counters around coffee pot and in general
-Pick up any dog poop in the lot
-Take out trash, recycling, etc.

Weekend Duties, IN ADDITION TO DAILY DUTIES:
NOTE: Unless other arrangements are made, Sunday cleaning starts at 9:00am. If there are no animals in the hospital, this is less important, but you MUST CALL US ON SATURDAY AT 1130AM to determine this!
-Vacuum the computers in the exam rooms
-Clean Exam rooms/drawers/chairs as needed
-Drawers and chairs in front desk/reception area
-Drawers and walls in computer/Rx area
-Drawers /cabinets and wall in hospital area
-Drawers, washing machine and dryer in back
-Drawers and cabinets in cat room
-Exam room & animal area SPECIAL CLEANING
-Dog runs
-Dust pictures and along walls in reception area
-Wash glass in doors and windows
-Refill soaps, Chlorhexidine sprays, paper towels, etc, throughout hospital
-Clean Exam room sinks and drains
-Clean countertops
-Clean Computer monitors
-Routine medication or care that is needed for any boarding animals (information would be provided)
-Clean out vacuum canister
-Other cleaning duties as they come up
