JEI Learning Center, Cary is seeking enthusiastic and caring instructors to teach Math and/or English to students from Pre-K through Grade 9. Classes are small (maximum of 5 students) and run in 2-hour shifts from 5:30–7:30 pm Monday-Thursday. Flexible scheduling. We are looking for teachers who can pick any one day or multiple days based on your availability. Teachers will use JEI’s structured curriculum, teaching materials, and student workbooks to guide learning. The role focuses on explaining concept pages to students, administering and grading mini-tests, and tracking student progress to ensure steady academic growth. Duties

• Teach Math and/or English using JEI’s curriculum, workbooks, and learning materials.
• Explain concept pages clearly and check for student understanding.
• Conduct mini-tests, grade them, and review results with students.
• Track and review each student’s progress on a regular basis.
• Provide encouragement and create a positive, supportive classroom environment.
• Manage small groups (up to 5 students) effectively during each 1-hour session.
• Communicate progress and areas of improvement with center staff and, when needed, parents.

Experience & Qualifications

• Previous experience teaching, tutoring, or working with children (Pre-K to Grade 9) preferred. WCPSS teachers preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and patience to engage students of different ages and learning styles.
• Ability to explain concepts clearly and patiently.
• Organized, responsible, and dependable in following structured curriculum.
• Enthusiasm and patience for working with children and helping them achieve academic success.
• Teaching certification or education coursework is a plus but not required.

Minimum starting salary of $15 - $20/hour, and is based on experience and grade level.
