Intern must reside in southeast Pennsylvania and have a car to visit residential clients in SE PA. CAD ability is a plus. PE is a plus. Structural experience in residential modifications/additions is a plus. Looking for part time 1099 contractors. One intern per project. Work from home. Compensation includes travel time, site visits, and design time. Will teach lumber and masonry design if necessary. Description of a typical project: visit residential client with DEC PE, take photos and measurements, create design for header beam to replace load bearing wall, create drawings, notes, contractor's scope of work, and calculations. Assemble design document and submit for DEC checking and eventual PE seal. DEC designs foundation repairs/modifications, additions, full basements, floor and wall framing, LVL and steel header beams for load bearing walls, etc. DEC will review, check, and seal designs. DEC is responsible for all sales, proposals and invoicing.
