Job Overview
The Pastor of Youth and Worship Ministries will have full-time job responsibilities divided between Youth Ministry (60%) and Worship Ministry (40%). This position starts with a 1 year contract.
Youth Ministry

The primary responsibilities include the following:
• Develop, promote, and maintain a vibrant middle & high school youth ministry.
• Lead a team of volunteers in youth ministry and programs such as youth group, life groups, summer camps, LIFE Conference and special monthly activities.
• Spend time with the youth outside of the church.
• Work with the Senior Pastor to ensure youth are integrated into the life of the church. Engage with parents and provide resources for families in navigating adolescence.
• Develop social media platforms for the youth to engage in.

Worship Ministry

The primary responsibilities include the following:

• Developing the music ministry and all the issues that relate to this function within the church
• Leading worship services in a way that focuses attention on Christ and not self.
• Conducting worship team rehearsals.
• Planning, arranging, and providing music for the worship team.
• Organizing and choosing songs for the Sunday worship service.
• Coordinating details concerning rehearsals and services with the audio and sound technicians.

General Ministries
• The Associate Pastor will meet with the Senior Pastor on a regular basis to coordinate the needs of the church and perform duties as assigned.
• Preach on a regular basis - preferably 4-6 times per year. This would include a few youth services on Sunday morning.
• Other duties could include administration, maintenance, visitation, and various other ministries.
• Participate in the life of the church as both staff and as a member of the church which includes participating in church-wide special services or ministries such as Good Friday service, Christmas Eve service, mission’s conference, and outreach events. If circumstances prevent attendance, a suitable substitute is expected to be found.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
• Mature and growing relationship with Jesus.
• Meets the qualifications for an Elder as listed in 1 Timothy and Titus.
• Understands and affirms church statement of faith and by-laws.
• Able to lead and teach others in pursuit of God’s truth and maturity.
• Musical ability and proficiency with vocals, guitar and/or keyboard.
• Comfortable with contemporary music.
• One to three years of experience/involvement in youth ministry or an equivalent amount of education. This can be volunteer as well as paid professional experience (camp counselor, etc.)
• Two to three years of involvement in music ministry (leader, member, or combination), or an equivalent amount of education. This can be volunteer as well as paid professional experience.
• Comfortable with computers and standard office software such as MS Word and Google Sheets/Docs/Drive.
• Adaptable and teachable. Capable of learning and having a teachable spirit.

Preferred:
• College Degree in youth ministry or worship ministry, preferably from a Bible College or Seminary.
• Three years’ experience in youth ministry.
• Three years’ experience in worship ministry.
