We are seeking a Ballet Instructor to join our team in DeSoto, TX! We have two positions available. One position involves teaching beginner/interemediate ballet dance classes for small to medium groups. These ballet technique classes are for children ages 7-12 years old. The other position involves teaching preschoolers ages 3-6. Preschool classes are combo classes for ballet/tap and hiphop/tumbling.

The ability to choreograph for the annual concert(s) is required. The successful candidate must be experienced in teaching the ballet genre and this age group.

Duties and Responsibilities

To instill a love of learning in children by fostering a healthy curiosity about the world of dance
Prepare and teach stimulating classes to students aged 7+
Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and syllabi as required
Explain and demonstrate proper technique
Ability to connect and capture students’ attention, deliver information clearly, concisely, and effectively
Create appropriate choreography for song presentation for performance and examinations as required
Nurture each student to maximize his/her potential
Ensure a culture of rigor and discipline in the learning environment
Be aware and sensitive to the handling of students’ emotional needs, giving constructive criticism, encouragement, and confidence
Create a welcoming, healthy and safe learning environment for all students to grow and learn by following EDAA class-based rules and boundaries that are centered on mutual respect and understanding of EDAA core values
Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school
Collaborate with other members of the EDAA faculty to work collectively with colleagues to meet the needs of all students
Attend and assist at external/internal student performances and examination sessions as requested
Participate in all staff meetings
Actively support studio-wide initiatives and programs
Support colleagues and work whole-heartedly for the good of the EDAA
Work reflectively to set/achieve studio goals, receive constructive feedback and try new strategies to improve student achievement
Any other duties as reasonably requested by the CEO/Creative Director.
The teacher reports directly to the CEO/Creative Director and or designate as directed.
