About this position:
You would provide one on one support for adults with developmental disabilities in Alameda County. We support adults of all ages and support needs. Your goal would be to provide respectful, personal, and motivating services that enable our clients to participate in all aspects of their community, and lead meaningful lives centered around independence and empowerment.
This job is a great way to gain experience in the non-profit sector, social work, social services, occupational therapy, mental health, or healthcare. We seek people who want to make a difference in the lives of others and are reliable, dependable, and teachable.
No experience required!
Our Community Day Program has made some changes during the Shelter In Place. All community based activities are on hold. Instead, you would get to spend your day supporting clients in their home.
Inside the home you would support clients with:
Emotional support and companionship
Exercise and walks around their neighborhood
Reading
Preparing snacks and lunch for the day
Connecting with friends and loved ones virtually
Personal/intimate care
Medication management and administration
Wheelchair lifts and transfers
Virtual activities available:
Dance classes
Music therapy classes
Birthday celebrations
Streaming of movies and music
Gardening
Cooking
Activism
Crafting and DIY projects
Work Schedule:
We have a variety of open shifts Monday through Friday. Some start as early at 8am, and some end as late as 6pm.
Hourly Rate: $17.33 per hour
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided to all staff and clients. This includes face masks, face shields, gloves, disinfectant, hand sanitizer and more!
