TITLE: Complex Social Catering Sales Manager

DEPARTMENT: Sales

REPORTS TO: Complex Executive Director of Sales and Marketing


JOB SUMMARY

Identifies and engages targeted social segment to establish new catering business, ensuring monthly and yearly catering objectives are achieved. Plans and oversees all catering events, ensuring that key responsibilities are fulfilled both personally and through team members.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Leverage knowledge of both DoubleTree and Marriott facilities to effectively detail events when needed.

· Collaborates with the Complex Executive Director of Sales in developing the annual budget and monthly projections related to overall banquet and catering income.

· Cultivates existing customer relationships while fostering new connections.

· Actively seeks new clients through phone outreach, emails, and in-person sales visits. Achieves their assigned weekly, monthly, and quarterly activity goals.

· Manages account details to ensure all aspects of outreach and closure are thoroughly completed and recorded.

· Leads property tours and assembles information for site evaluations.

· Conducts tours of competing venues; builds rapport with competitors for potential referrals.

· Participates in industry-related meetings and events.

· Performs local sales calls to promote the hotel and assesses competitor messaging to identify leads.

· Achieves targeted sales goals for catering services including food, beverages, room rentals, and audio/visual needs.

· Prepares monthly forecasting reports as needed.

· Effectively organizes time and responsibilities, paying close attention to detail.

· Responds to sales inquiries within a 24-hour timeframe.

· Engages in weekly sales calls to nurture existing relationships and pursue new business opportunities.

· Communicates with the Sales and Catering team during meetings using prepared materials.

· Works closely with clients to identify specific requirements and develops tailored programs.

· Oversees all event details.

· Prepares Banquet Event Orders (if necessary) and ensures all aspects are coordinated with the Banquet Supervisor, staff, and clients.

· Attends events as needed to greet group contacts upon arrival and ensure their satisfaction.

· Responsibilities may be adjusted to meet the hotel’s needs.


QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Candidates should demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and abilities, and be able to perform the essential functions of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation:

· Minimum of two years of experience in hotel sales or event management.

· Ability to learn sales systems for both DoubleTree and Marriott brands.

· Proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding the primary language(s) used in the workplace.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Tasks are often performed independently or as a team leader within a collaborative environment.

· Basic computer skills.

· Industry knowledge.

· Commitment to ensuring consistent guest satisfaction.

· Capability to make decisions with limited guidance based on general policies and procedures.


AVAILABILITY

This organization operates 24/7. Typically, this role requires work Monday through Friday, with hours varying according to business needs. Occasionally, you may be required to adjust your schedule to include weekends or change your work hours based on business demands. Please note that the number of hours you work will be determined by business needs.
