Role Overview:The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing repairs, rebuilds, installations, and setups of production equipment to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations. This role acts as the primary technical resource on the shift, supporting all maintenance activities, troubleshooting equipment issues, and minimizing downtime.
The position requires strong experience in mechanical systems, equipment troubleshooting, and production line support, along with the ability to lead maintenance efforts and assist in training operators on proper equipment use and preventive practices.
Job Requirements:- Proven experience in maintenance, repair, and installation of production equipment.
- Strong background in troubleshooting mechanical systems, including drives, pneumatics, pumps, valves, and conveyors.
- Experience with equipment rebuilds, line setups, and product changeovers.
- Knowledge of machining and fabrication techniques.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices and equipment reliability.
- Experience with TPM or Lean Manufacturing is a plus.
- Basic computer knowledge for maintenance tracking and reporting.
- Strong analytical skills to identify issues and implement corrective actions.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
Physical Requirements: - Ability to perform hands-on mechanical work throughout the shift.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and working with tools and equipment.
- Handling of mechanical components and materials as required during repairs and installations.
Work Environment: - Work performed in a manufacturing/production environment with active machinery.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, equipment noise, and industrial conditions.
- Requires adherence to safety protocols and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Repair & Maintain Equipment: Troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild production equipment, including fillers, conveyors, drives, palletizers, and boxing systems.
- Install & Replace Machinery: Install new equipment or replace existing systems as needed to support operations.
- Support Production Lines: Set up equipment and production lines for product changeovers.
- Lead Maintenance on Shift: Act as the primary technical resource, supporting all maintenance activities and minimizing downtime.
- Troubleshoot Mechanical Issues: Analyze equipment problems and implement corrective actions to maintain performance, safety, and quality.
- Perform Running Adjustments: Make real-time adjustments to equipment to ensure maximum production efficiency.
- Support Preventive Maintenance: Assist with and promote preventive maintenance practices to reduce equipment failure.
- Train & Support Operators: Help train operators to identify and report potential equipment issues.
- Improve Equipment Reliability: Contribute to efforts that reduce downtime and improve overall equipment performance.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
