Job Title: Human Resources Manager

Assignment Type: Contract | ~3 Months

Pay: $36 – $42 / Hhour, depending on experience

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

We are partnering with a well-established organization in Washington, DC to place an experienced Human Resources Manager for a contract engagement. Job Description:

A reputable Washington, DC-based organization is seeking a seasoned Human Resources Manager to lead key people operations on a contract basis. This individual will serve as a trusted partner to senior leadership while overseeing the full scope of day-to-day HR activity — from compliance and employee relations to talent strategy and organizational development.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct core HR functions including employee relations, policy administration, performance management, and regulatory compliance
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to organizational leadership on workforce planning, HR best practices, and people-focused initiatives
  • Champion employee engagement programs and help foster a workplace culture where people feel supported and valued
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to applicable local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations
  • Evaluate and improve existing HR processes, workflows, and systems for greater efficiency and effectiveness
  • Drive recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts to support organizational growth and stability

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a management or leadership capacity
  • In-depth understanding of employment law, HR compliance frameworks, and workforce management principles
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to communicate clearly and navigate complex situations with sound judgment
  • Demonstrated discretion when handling sensitive, confidential, or high-stakes employee matters
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience working within HRIS platforms
  • Bachelor's degree required; PHR or SHRM-CP certification a plus

Additional Details:

This is a contract position estimated at approximately 3 months, with the possibility of extension. Candidates must be local to the Washington, DC area and available to work a hybrid schedule.
