Communications Intern

Intern with the Republican Party of Iowa:

An internship with the Republican Party of Iowa provides undergraduate students with a unique opportunity to witness and participate in Iowa’s political process. Our First-In-the-Nation status offers interns at RPI the ability to have a meaningful impact in the national political discussion. Regardless of one's field of study, the exposure to Iowa politics can enhance a student's understanding of what representative government and campaign life is all about. Working for RPI will give you real insight into the areas of fundraising, event-planning, political strategy, communications, and grassroots organization. As such, RPI interns will become familiar with political operatives in Iowa and will work to help expand the Republican Party as it strives to secure principled, conservative government in Des Moines and Washington, D.C.

We are seeking an energetic, eager-to-learn Communications Intern to join the team during the 2018 election cycle. Working in the Communications Department will give you first hand exposure to the state and national press corps, and experience writing and pitching stories to benefit a significant number of candidates.

If interested, please send the following information to ------------: include a resume, two references and a brief (250 words or less) statement detailing why you are seeking an internship with RPI, your expectations from the experience, and any past political experience. NOTE: If you are receiving academic credit from your school for participating in an RPI internship, please include your institution’s requirements.
