Hello!
My name is Christy Wright, and I’m looking to expand my career as a photographer and graphic designer. My experience in these fields began in 2005 when I started working on my high school yearbook taking photographs, designing layouts, and writing articles. By my final year of high school, I was Senior Editor and worked with several other students to produce the finished book.
In 2007, I began my four-year journey at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, FL, and I graduated this May with a BA in Interdisciplinary Arts. The degree is uniquely multifaceted and tailored to my interests, and I received training in photography, graphic design, and theatre. Throughout my college career, I’ve had incredible experiences at three different companies as an intern: Quinn & Hary Marketing in New London, CT as a Web & Graphic Design Intern; Studio & Photo Editing Intern at Black Dog Photography in Mystic, CT; and Marketing Intern at freeFall Theatre in St. Petersburg, FL. This past season, I was the Graphic Design Assistant with Berkshire Theatre Festival in Pittsfield, MA. With each position, I’ve learned to work on both PC (primary) and Mac operating systems and various versions of our favorite Adobe Programs: Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and AfterEffects. I have several years of experience in the photography field, both shooting and editing. I’ve photographed weddings, theatre productions, performances, events, and portraits. I have also designed posters and other promotional materials, calendars, advertisements (web and print), business cards, logos, and books. I have experience writing as well, and was nominated for Eckerd College's Writing Excellence Awards in 2010.
My largest project is entitled “Call of the Wild: Behind the Curtain.” This full-color 64-page book details the process of bringing Jack London’s classic novel from the script to the stage in Eckerd College’s Fall 2010 theatre production of “Call of the Wild.” I interviewed directors, designers, and cast and crew members to get an insider’s view of the theatre, and I photographed nearly every step of the process, from the preliminary designs to rehearsals, and opening night to striking the stage. Once all the interviews and photos had been edited, I brought everything into InDesign and began designing the book. Printed in February of 2011, this has been my most enjoyable project thus far.
Passionate and driven, I’m eager to jump into the world of art and every element that comes with it. I’m ready to push the limits of traditional photography and design, and I’m excited for what is to come. If you’d like to see samples of my work, please visit my website at
