Objective
I am currently seeking a part-time position to help me pay for my college tuition.
Experience
Kountry Kids Learning Center 113 E. 1st Street New Berlin, IL June 2009- July 2010
• For the past year I was given the opportunity to work in one of the most fulfilling environments I have come across thus far. I attended college while working at the daycare part time, and always gave 100% of my devotion in whatever task I was completing. While at Kountry Kids I was fortunate enough to work in the toddler room, which equipped me with new skills I never knew I needed. My job included providing meals for all of the children, changing diapers, ensuring their safety, making sure they were having a great time, as well as other cleaning responsibilities. Duties involved with cleaning included the following: sweeping, mopping, doing dishes, bleaching toys daily, vacuuming, and making sure the room was tidy each evening before leaving. The bond I acquired working with the children made each and every day a pleasant one, and made me see my tasks as something I enjoyed doing rather than work.
Education
Lincoln Land Community College 2009-2010
My first year of school was spent at Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield, Illinois. I majored in early childhood education, and while completing classes here I also worked full time at the daycare. I managed to earn a 3.4 GPA in my first year.
Johnson County Community College 2010-2011
I plan on completing my undergraduate school at Johnson County Community College this fall. I will continue to major in early childhood education and receive my associate’s degree next spring.
Skills
Working in a daycare setting equips you with more skills than you can possibly imagine, or even realize you need. I am an extremely patient individual, which is one of the skills I am most thankful for, and I believe it helps me tremendously. I am outgoing, very friendly, and a people person. I am always willing to help anyone in need, and will go out of my way to ensure everyone is satisfied at the end of the day. I take work very seriously, which is why I am never late, and rarely absent. I try to go above and beyond the expectations of my job, to not only please the customer, but myself as well. I am a very good listener and pick up things quickly, so learning new tasks is quite simple for me. I am also CP-R and first aid certified which are always good to have in case of an emergency.
