Hello my name is Dominc Sparano I am a graduate from Adelphi University. I have a Bachelors in Art and working on my masters. As a sculptor I have worked with foam, metal, wood, ceramics and plaster, and I feel that that gives me insight into handeling work made from those materials. Also I work as an illustrator, so I am knowledgable of handeling 2 dimensional art and frames. I am looking for work that will suit my talents and skills, whether it be freelance, a fulltime job or part time jobs, I am open to almost any oppurtunity. This past summer I interned 3 days a week at Knoedler Gallery under the supervision of Billy England in the Shipping Department. Our general tasks were gallery maintenance (painting and simple building repair), heavy lifting (equipment, catalogs and expenssive artwork) and shipping art work. Over the past year I have been assiting the painter Stevenski Brewster in his Manhattan studio. I managed such tasks as clerical work( cataloging photos, organizing mailing lists in excel and adding email contacts), internet research, and other adminitrative tasks. 2 years ago I worked as an office assitant at the Art League of Long Island registering students for classes in Filemaker pro and answering phones, as well as other clerical and administrative jobs. Last summer I assisted in the dismantling of a steel sculpture done by Andrew Connelly for the 2004 Adelphi Sculpture Biennial as well as the construsction of a piece by Pal Svennson for the 2006 Biennial made of pressure treated wood. I also assisted Karyn Olivier with a large scale sculpture for the Whitney Museum. Last fall I assisted with the installation of large stone sculptures also done by Pal Svennson into the Jim Kempner Gallery, and this spring I assisted in the deintallation as well. you can find my resume at www.coroflot.com/dsparano or www.723.com/dsparano I can be contacted via email: dsparano@hotmail.com and my cell phone 516-551-1798
