Jethero’s Italian Eatery 2010-Present
• As a Waitress at Jethero’s Italian Eatery, in Altoona, PA, I have been exposed to many new and useful tools and ideals when dealing with the public. Through working with a variety of people, I have obtained insight on different personalities, and how to deal with making people as content as possible in a social dining situation. I have also furthered my understanding on group work settings, as well as how to improve group related areas. Through waitressing I have also dealt with trying customer situations and long hours, that have taught me how to deal with someone who may be emotionally distressed or upset in the situation they are currently in.
J & P Auto Mart 2010-Present
• While working at J & P Auto Mart, in Altoona, PA, as an Administrative Assistant, I have become knowledgeable on different aspects of business and secretarial work. While working at J & P Auto Mart, computer programs such as, Windows, Microsoft Word, Quick Books, and E-Mail became second nature, as well as using a fax machine, copier, printer, and answering the phones, in addition to assisting and problem resolution for costumers questions and complaints who phoned or visited the office. By building working relationships with other employees and customers, business and the tasks I was performing were easy to learn, and educational for future work in a business setting.

Mexico City Restaurant 2008-2010
• As a waitress in an Authentic Mexican restaurant in Pittsburgh, PA, I was not only exposed to fluent native’s from Mexico City, who helped me learn their language and dialect, but also other Spanish speaking customers, who would frequent the restaurant and contribute to my understanding of this language. The variety of people and dialects that I was exposed to not only helped in Spanish classes I attended, but as well as being able to preserve much more of the language than in a class room. While absorbing Spanish, I also was working as a team with the other people at the restaurant to make our customers happy, and the business run smoothly.

Garvey Manor 2007-2009
• While working at Garvey Manor, in Altoona, PA, as a Care Helper in a dementia unit, development and education of many skills that are beneficial and relevant to Psychology were acquired. Through working at Garvey Manor, instruction and engagement were provided in the participation of enabling the cognitive and social abilities in elderly residents whom are suffering from dementia. Through learning new ways to be able to engage and interact with this type of mental disease, I came to learn the best ways to handle difficult situations with individuals whom are not always on the same mental level as the people around them. Through engaging in interaction with dementia patients, it become apparent that the skills I acquired from these individuals would benefit me for a lifetime.

Concentration in Forensic Psychology
Point Park University, Pittsburgh
Over a four-year timeframe, Point Park University provided education and experience in Psychology classes, Forensic classes, Forensic Psychology classes, as well as Criminal Justice classes. All of which contributed to my concentration in Forensic Psychology. While attending Point Park University I participated in Duquesne University’s Psychology Conference in April 2008, in which the presentation of original research about abuse against the elderly occurred. During which, my presentation of the findings, as well as a question and answer portion was preformed. Also, through a senior research class, with the supervision of a professor at Point Park University, the completion of a Qualitative Research Study was accomplished, and this occurred from September 2009-December 2009. During this research study, original and creative research was completed on the topic of the experience of drug addict whom is currently in recovery. Through the examination and the findings of my participant, I was able to obtain an original Psychological study in the understanding of this individuals experience. At the completion of this study, the second step in the process of the study began. At this time, I participated in a continuation and expansion of my Qualitative Research Study, under a new advisor, from January 2010 until April 2010, in which I interviewed and included two additional participants to my original study. During this study, continuation of understanding a recovered individual’s experience of drug use affected their past and current life was studied. Also, I participated in Point Park University’s Humanities Conference in April 2010, to present my findings in the above mentioned original research about the experience of recovered drug addicts, during which, a poster session was held, as well as a question and answer period, all following speakers and presentations from local Psychologists.
Altoona Area High School 2003-2006
Classes included AP Computer Science with Java, in which the education of computer programming, complicated math equations, and knowledge of JAVA Script were taught. Participation in a community service program, supervised through the school, in which students are allowed to substitute class time for outside community service work was accomplished. Through my community service work, I volunteered at a local elementary school. Through this experience, I aided in office duties, as well as assisting in of many of the teacher tasks needed to complete their lessons, as well as participating in activities with the students at this elementary school, ranging from participation in their fundraisers, to their academic activities.
Skills
Maintains the ability to use a MAC, as well as a PC. On both operating systems, obtain skills in working all Microsoft Office utilities. Currently enrolled in a computer class that is improving my Microsoft Word skills, as well as educating me further in computer information and capability. Have been exposed to extensive lessons in Spanish, as well as working in an authentic Mexican restaurant, and have the ability to speak and understand a large quantity of Spanish. A speech class was completed during high school, during which, the ability to speak comfortably in front of groups was acquired. I also have excellent written and verbal presentation skills. In addition, through past jobs and group projects, the ability to get along with co-workers and accept supervision was obtained, and I have received positive evaluations from past employers. Additionally, encompass willingness to try new things and am very interested in improving my efficiency and knowledge on assigned tasks. I have great attention to detail, and work until the project in question is done to my specifications.
Other
Beginning September 2010, with an expected completion in the Fall of 2011, Participation in the Women’s Golf Team of Tiffin University. Where I have continued to advance not only my game of golf, but have advanced my ability to think quickly in tough situations, and the temperaments of other individuals in a foreign environment.
From Fall of 2009 until Spring of 2010, Participation in the newly formed Women’s Golf Team of Point Park University. In which, not only was being able to participate and work well with others reinforced through this sport, but also patience, attention to detail, understanding, encouragement, and dedication were all instilled.
Also, since age of 16, maintained at least one job, while at times, such as sophomore year of college, held down as many jobs as three. All of which were in the Customer Service industry, ranging from retail to the food service industry, also including the health care profession. All of which provided skills to work well with others, and be able to deal proactively with problems, along with creating the ability to creatively come up with solutions to the problems with co-workers as well as customers.
In 2007, the Christmas Carol Foundation, located in Altoona, PA, was in need of sponsors and donations from individuals and companies in order to make family in need’s Christmas a little brighter. For this foundation, through the 2007 holiday season, I dedicated time to visit local businesses to ask them to participate and donate for this charity.
From 2005 and ongoing, every year I participate alongside of my family in the Altoona Toys For Tots donation drive, where we sponsor and decorate a tree at the Altoona Ramada, as well as provide time collecting and gathering the toys for the children during this time. Along with participation in the Altoona Toys For Tots donation process, during the Holiday season of 2009, I was also active in aiding in the donation, gathering, and advertising for the Pittsburgh Police’s Toys for Tots program.
